Music Pick = Silver Bells
For the past several years, one of our Christmas family traditions has been to ride the Cache Valley Transit District (CVTD) bus to the Cache Valley Mall to look at the lights and decorations. For family night last week, we boarded the bus once again. Although the older kids are no longer as excited to ride the big bus (the thrill of the daily bus ride to school has worn off over the years), Alec was especially excited this year and talked about it all day.
We woke up to snow this morning, but tonight was clear and very cold. As we waited to board the bus to ride back to the transit station, a woman approached and said, “You look like you could use a flower.” She proceeded to give each one of us a red carnation. How pleasant to be the recipient of a stranger’s desire to spread Christmas cheer! We enjoyed smelling our flowers and it was fun to board the bus with them in our hands. On our kitchen table now sits a vase of red Christmas carnations—an inspiring reminder of the kindness of the stranger who warmed our hearts on a cold winter’s night.
